Gerald J. Noskowiak, age 84, a former Manitowoc resident, currently residing in Appleton, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.
He was born on December 13, 1931 in Antigo, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Pizl) Noskowiak. Jerry was a Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1952 to 1954. On September 8, 1956 he married the former Therese Verhasselt at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phlox, WI. Jerry was employed with Johnson Electric as an electronic technician and then became an owner of Greenwoods TV & Appliance, Two Rivers, retiring after 35 years in 1994. He was a member of the American Legion Drews Bleser Post #88, V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659, the Manitowoc Elks Club and the Knights of Columbus Council 710. Jerry was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish (formerly Holy Innocents Catholic Church) where he was a past member of the finance committee, past president of the parish council and was an Extra Ordinary Minister of Communion. Jerry was instrumental in the establishment of the Roncalli Auction and together with his wife, Therese, co-chaired the first four years of the event. He was past president and a member of the Roncalli Athletic Association, Roncalli Development and the Roncalli Endowment Committees. He was also involved with the S.F.A. - Stewardship Committee and the Home School Association.
Survivors include his wife: Therese Noskowiak, Appleton; four sons and daughters-in-law: Donald & Dolly Noskowiak, Green Bay, Keith & Amy Noskowiak, DePere, Kevin and Julie Noskowiak, Sun Prairie, Jerry & Jane Noskowiak, Oconomowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Geralyn & David Hartman, Appleton, Janice & Frank Falzon, Franklin; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Beverly Schwartz, Appleton, Shirley Verhasselt, Phlox, WI, Phyllis & Jerry Markgraf, Phlox, WI; and three brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert & Rachel Noskowiak, Antigo, Kenneth & Sharon Noskowiak, Antigo and DeMaine Noskowiak, Eau Claire. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Larry & Carol Noskowiak; a brother-in-law: Jerry Schwartz; and a sister-in-law: Marilyn Noskowiak.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 North 14th Street) Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier and the Rev. Jim Baraniak. Immediately following the service, military rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Otto Oas Post #659. Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth, at a later time.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 North 14th Street) Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 until 11:45 a.m.

Jerry was an avid gardener and also enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and attending his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic events. Jerry cherished time with family at the cabin on Enterprise Lake, Elcho, WI. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
