Life Story for Joseph Daniel Schmidt

Joseph D. Schmidt, age 17, a Valders resident, died Thursday, February 1, 2018.
Joseph was born on August 19, 2000 in Texas, son of John Schmidt and the late Teresa (Moses) Schmidt. He attended Valders High School and was employed part-time at Felician Village as a waiter. Joseph enjoyed watching and playing football and also liked skateboarding and playing video games.
Survivors include his father: John Schmidt; one sister: Chelsea; one brother: John and a niece: Ellie, all of Valders. Also surviving are ten maternal aunts and uncles; nine paternal aunts and uncles; along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother: Teresa; maternal grandparents: Betty & Edwin Moses; paternal grandparents: Gordon & Monica Schmidt; an uncle: Gordy Schmidt; an aunt: Wanda; and two cousins: Josh and Paul.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen. Cremation will occur after the service at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills, from 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 until 5:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joseph’s name.
