Life Story for Leonard A. Boldt Sr.

Leonard A. Boldt Sr., age 83, a Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday afternoon, October 9, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 1, 1935 in Valders, son of the late Arnold and Barbara (Neuser) Boldt. Leonard was a graduate of Valders High School, Class of 1953. On June 25, 1955 he married the former Joan Witczak at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Leonard was employed as a boiler room operator at Manitowoc Company and also employed at Mirro Aluminum Company, Sorge Dairy, Valders Elevator and Ace Hardware. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, tractors and gardening. Leonard also enjoyed listening to polka music, playing the corinet and spending time on “The Farm.”
Survivors include his wife: Joan F. Boldt; one daughter and son-in-law: Nancy A. & John Hemme; six sons and daughters-in-law: Randolph R. & Sharon Boldt, Ronald L. & Trudy Boldt, Charles J. & Ellen Boldt, Jeffrey J. & Tina Boldt, Joseph R. & Gail Boldt, Leonard A. “Spark” Boldt Jr.; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law: Roger G. & Joyce Boldt; a brother-in-law: Milton Collier; and a close friend: Father Joel Szydlowski. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law: Jerome & Mona Boldt; and a sister: Marion Collier.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, October 13, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Doug LeCaptain with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Alan Boeldt. Friends may also call Saturday morning at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
