James K. Montonati, age 87, a Two Rivers resident, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center.
He was born on September 18, 1931, in Neenah, WI, son of the late Aldo and Esther (Sprenger) Montonati. James was in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. On July 28, 1995 he married Sandra Krueger on a boat on Lake Michigan. James worked as a mason, working for various companies and was currently employed with the city of Two Rivers. He was an avid fisherman and loved boating year-round.
James is survived by his wife: Sandra Montonati; six children: Kaylyn Skidmore, Paul Montonati, Kelly (Bob) Steffens, Kimberly (Michael) Miller, Kristy (Len) Armstrong, Julie Krogh; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother: Truman “Tony” (Carol) Montonati; one sister: Susan Kalkoske; one sister-in-law: Cheri Pleshek and his fur babies: Heidi and Fritzi. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He is preceded in death by one son: James Jr.; one daughter-in-law: Sue Montonati; one brother: Ralph (Irene) Montonati; two brothers-in-law: Gene Kalkoske and Roger Pleshek; mother-in-law: Ethel Mouille.
Cremation has occurred at the All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Two Rivers on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Officiating at the services will be the Rev. William Kilps.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Two Rivers on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
