Life Story for Linda Mae O'Leary (Nelson)

Linda Mae O’Leary (Nelson) passed away on October 20, 2018.
She was born in Menominee, Michigan, on April 24, 1956 to Robert Lee and Lorraine Mae (Baribeau) Nelson and attended school in Marinette, Wisconsin graduating in 1974. On August 2, 1980 she married the love of her life, her soul mate, and her best friend, Kenneth M O’Leary.
Linda drove bus for Valders school district during which time she was also the administrative assistant for the bus company. In 2000 she went to work for Ralph Gries and later, Randy Pingel, both agents for Rural Mutual Insurance Company, as their assistant.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, their son Jim O’Leary and his special friend Stephanie Leiteritz, two grandchildren, Trenton O’Leary and Lauren O’Leary, her mother, Lorraine Nelson of Marinette, 2 sisters, Nancy (Kenny) Sallee of Oconto WI, Donna (Mark) Stanke of Marinette WI, 2 brothers Wayne (Vanessa) Nelson of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and David (Barb) Nelson of Peshtigo WI. Further survivors include, Gretchen Kozaczuk, (the mother of her grandchildren) Dominic Gorgas, Kenzy Gorgas and Joseph Gorgas (the children of Stephanie Leiteritz) her sister-in-law Carolyn O’Leary, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death was her father, Robert Nelson, father and mother-in-law Wilson O’Leary and Adeline Senecal, brother-in-law Bill Benchley, brother-in-law Thomas O’Leary and sister-in-law Karen O’Leary.
Being grandma was one of her greatest joys and her grandchildren meant the world to her. Family, that’s what life was all about.
Cremation has taken place and burial at Faith Lutheran West cemetery will take place at a later date.
We would like to thank UW Madison Carbone Cancer Center, St. Vincent Cancer Center, Holy Family Cancer Center, Holy Family Hospice and Dr. David Augustine for all their compassion and kindness over the past several years.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, assisted the family.
