Margaret C. Mansfield, age 89, a former Two Rivers resident, passed away December 2, 2018 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Margaret was born September 23, 1929 in Morristown, NJ., daughter of the late Austin M. and Grace L. (Kennedy) Mansfield. She was a graduate of Bayley High School with the class of 1947. Margaret was a member of the U.S. Women’s Air Force (WAF) in 1949. She was an administrative assistant in the volunteer department at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York and later worked as an office manager for a Wall Street company. Margaret then moved to Gaithersburg, MD to work for Control Data Corporation until her retirement. She also lived in Berthoud, CO and Brookings, OR prior to moving to Two Rivers in 2008. Margaret was an avid reader, enjoyed classical music and loved animals.
Survivors include one daughter: Théo Lynne Hoffman, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law: Shelia Mansfield and Delores Mansfield, both of New Jersey; seven nieces and nephews: Megan Townsend, Austin (Mary) Mansfield, Maura (Jim) Diehl, Brenda (Fred ) Rehrig, Tim (Joan) Nairn, Melissa Mansfield and Sharon (Gene) Gilligan. Other extended relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Joan (Lou) Garten, Geraldine (Ken) Kresge, Kathleen (Tom) Nairn; and two brothers: Austin and Thomas Mansfield.
Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Judine Duerwaechter. Burial of Margaret’s cremated remains will take place at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown, NJ at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society, Manitowoc.
