Obituary for Darlene A. Braun

Darlene A. Braun, age 82, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Monday afternoon, April 26, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Darlene was born on July 26, 1938 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Earl and Lydia (Baumann) Nelson. She grew up in Manitowoc and was a 1956 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School. On November 30, 1957 she married Jerome A. Braun at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. In the past, Darlene worked as a secretary for Hamann Construction, Wetenkamp-Brunner, and retired from Bob Braun Excavating. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and enjoyed going up to their cottage in Townsend. Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great granddaughters and playing rummy.

Survivors include her husband: Jerome Braun, Manitowoc; their four children: Steven (Debra) Braun, Mike (Sally) Braun, Lisa (Jeff) Robinson, Tim (Amy) Braun, all of Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Anthony (Amber) Spackman and their children: Jordyn and Josie, Trevor Braun, Courtney Braun, Halle Braun; two brothers and four sisters-in-law: Randy (Karen) Nelson, Rick (Linda) Nelson, Darla Nelson, Linda Nelson, all of Manitowoc; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Sharon (Gary) Stryhn, Manitowoc, Corie (Kris) Siara, Wabeno. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Lydia Nelson; two brothers: Robert and Russell Nelson; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: John and Laura Braun.

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, 1114 S. 21st Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Doug LeCaptain with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Masks are required to attend and please practice social distancing when possible.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
