Life Story for Kenneth H. Ignera

Kenneth H. Ignera, age 80, of 923 N. 8th Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, July 3, 2012 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Kenneth was born on October 20,1931, in Two Rivers, son of the late Felix and Antoinette (Leszczynski) Ignera. He attended Sacred Heart and Washington High School in Two Rivers. On June 9, 1951 he married Mary Ann Gruber at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Kenneth was employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding for 35 years retiring in 1993. He was active in the Manitowoc Catholic Dart Ball League and participated for many years. Kenneth was also an avid sports fan, he enjoyed the Milwaukee Bucks, Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He also enjoyed many years of companionship with his pet cat, Rudi.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Ann Ignera, Manitowoc; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Robert Ignera, Steven and Lori Ignera and Michael and Laura Ignera; one son-in-law: Robert (Sharon) Dewey, all of Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Lisa (James) Meissner, Two Rivers, Bobby Jo Cisneros, Manitowoc; two great grandchildren: Brittany Phillips and Sabrina Cisneros; one great great granddaughter: Rylee Phillips; one sister: Olivia Gilbert, Two Rivers; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Helen and George Surfus, Manitowoc, Delores Wengrowski Mueller, Two Rivers, Leona Vengrowsky, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Kenneth was also preceded in death by one daughter: Kathy Dewey; four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Matt and Theresa Wegrowski, Frank and Eleanore Ignera, Stephen Vengrosky, Henry Wengroski; three sisters and two brothers-in-law: Jeanne and Al Malley, Gladys Vengrowsky, Lillian and Paul Flentjie, Floyd Gillbert; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Doris and Tom Lyons.
Cremation has taken place at All Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi - Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with burial of the cremated remains at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends for a memorial visitation on Monday, July 9, 2012 at St. Francis of Assisi - Waldo, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
