Obituary for Ronald A. Yauger

Ronald A. Yauger
Ronald A. Yauger, age 78, a longtime resident of Shoto and Mishicot, entered eternal life, after a brief battle with cancer and a long battle with Alzheimers, on May 13 2017, surrounded by his children, at Maritime Gardens of Manitowoc.

Ron was born in Kewaunee on April 24, 1939, a son of Julius and Sylvia Yauger. He attended schools in Two Rivers, St. Nazianz and Mishicot. Ron was a Marine with the U.S. Marine Corps and very proud of his service. Ron married Constance Petska on October 3, 1959 and together they raised 3 children.

Ron and his father founded and owned Riverside Seafoods along with his brother Dennis in Two Rivers. There he became the master of the fillet knife and could fillet lake perch faster and cleaner than anyone else. With a bit of a suggestion from his beloved mother-in-law he developed and invented the original breaded and deep fried cheese curd that so many of us still enjoy. Ron worked very hard and enjoyed life to the fullest. He and Connie cherished their summers in Shawano and winters in Arizona, along with their many travels after they retired from their hard days of work.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Ann Yauger, Kelly Eells and husband Jim, his son Michael Yauger and his special friend Nell Holsen; 5 grandchildren, Dean Meneau and his wife Stephanie, Andrew Meneau, Renee Meneau and her fiancé Chris Winkel, Felicia Yauger and her special friend Rick, Toni Yauger and her special friend Gerret; 6 great grandchildren; Shawn, Lillian, Cheyenne, Carla, Dereck and Ellie. He is further survived by his sister Lynn Repka and her husband Jack, and his brother Dennis Yauger and his wife Paulette, 1 sister-in-law Colleen Petska and her special friend Tim, 3 brothers-in-law Roy Petska and his wife Donna, Mort Petska and his wife Mary, and Ed Petska; along with many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Connie, his Father and Mother-in-law Ray and Bernadine Petska, a granddaughter, Tara Yauger, 1 brother-in-law Lyle Petska, 2 sisters-in-law Patricia Lyon and Marilyn Petska and 3 nephews David, Lee and Jerry Lyon.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with burial to take place following services at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Two of Kossuth. Full military honors will be accorded following services at church.
