Life Story for Derald Earl Zimmer

Derald Earl  Zimmer
Derald E. Zimmer, age 84, of Two Rivers, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side.

Derald was born April 4, 1933, son of the late Elmer and Jessie (Knutson) Zimmer. He was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers class of 1952. Derald joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. In September 1956 he married the former Yvonne Blahnik at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Derald enjoyed fishing and loved Farmall tractors.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Yvonne Zimmer, Two Rivers; children: Deacon Steve & Becky Zimmer, Cindy & Doug McCord, RuthAnn Thompson, Todd & Marcella Zimmer, Scott & Renee Zimmer, and Joyce & Steve Dimmick; 20 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; one sister: Joan Bullman; one brother and sister-in-law: Lester & Sue Zimmer; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Jeannette & Earl Junk; and two sisters-in-law: Beverley Orchekowski and Laverne Provot. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Derald was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and brother-in-law: Shirley & Harv Wiegand; and in-laws: Ruth & Mike DeCarlo, Al Orchekowski, Jack Bullman, and Bob Provot.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc and services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be his son Deacon Steve Zimmer with burial of the cremated remains to take place at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2018 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
