Obituary for William H. Johnsrud

William H.  Johnsrud
William H. Johnsrud, age 77, a Manitowoc resident, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

William was born on March 8, 1942 in Manitowoc, son of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth (Holsen) Johnsrud. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1960. He then completed two years of Technical School. William also served four years with the U.S. Army. On April 11, 1964 he married the former Kathleen M. Andrews in Wayland, MA. William worked as a Surgical Technician at Memorial Hospital for 25 years. He was a life member of the Lakeshore District Catholic Order of Foresters, the Disabled American Veterans and AMVETS Post 99. William was also a member of TREA – a military organization and the American Legion.

Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years: Kathleen M. Johnsrud, Manitowoc; one daughter and two sons-in-law: Katherine “Kelley” & John Heide, Green Bay, Michael Scheer, Manitowoc; one son: Kevin Johnsrud, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Hannah (Joe) Weiss, Green Bay, MacKenzie Heide (fiancé Charlie Kelley) and Michael Heide, Green Bay, Mason and Samuel Scheer, Manitowoc, Keegan and Kiara Johnsrud, Manitowoc; one great granddaughter: Molly Grace Weiss; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Paul & Mary Johnsrud, Manitowoc, Marcia Johnsrud, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Miriam Andrews, Wayland, MA; and a special godson: Jacob Johnsrud, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one daughter: Paula Scheer; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Hannah & George R. Andrews; one brother: John Johnsrud; one brother-in-law: George L. Andrews.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo (1121 N. 14th Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Jose Lopez. Military Rites will be accorded by the AMVETS Post 99. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Johnsrud Family Scholarship Fund at Roncalli High School.
