Condolences

Condolence From: Darlene Allen
Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Becky's passing. I just learned of her death today. I lost track of her about 8 or 9 years ago. Today I found a poem that she wrote to me in a Birthday card sometime in the mid 90's that made me miss her and smile and decided to see if I could find her again. We became friends after meeting at the Domestic Violence Center in Manitowoc. We worked there together in 1994. She lived with my husband and I for a year or so in Algoma. We stayed good friends and stayed in touch over the years. She was a true friend that brought much happiness and love to me. She was beautiful to me inside and out. Her energy and sense of humor was a wonderful contrast to my more quiet and subdued personality. I loved listening to her stories. She would occasionally pause and "make" me talk so that she could learn about my stories too. I loved her larger than life laugh. Her creativity was a gift that showed itself in her story telling, her art work, her clothes, her cookie baking her singing and her style. She led my family in the singing of wonderful old tunes around the campfire. My counter tops were covered at Christmas time with beautifully decorated cookies that we made. I have several of her drawings. One is on a piece of birch bark that she picked up from the ground and sketched a lovely colorful picture of my dog in the woods. I have countless wonderful memories of Becky. She meant a lot to me. I am so sorry that I lost touch with her and did not have the opportunity to tell her how very much she meant to me one last time. I hope even though some time has passed that you get this message. I would love to share more stories of my memories of Becky if anyone would like to hear more. You can find me on Facebook - Darlene Thomson Allen - and send me a message.
