Obituary for Barbara "Barb" Jorgensen

Barbara "Barb" Jorgensen
Barbara “Barb” Jorgensen, age 74, of Manitowoc passed away early Sunday morning, August 16, 2020 at her residence with her loving family at her side after a yearlong battle with cancer of the thymus that had spread to her liver.
Barb was born December 2, 1945 in Mt. Clemens, MI to Thomas and Eleanor (Ehrke) Dubay. She was one of seven children. From early on, she was a hard worker. She started at Mt. Clemens Bank and also at Jim Roberts Seatbelt Company. She met Charles Tuschl and they married and had two children: Dale and Rhonda (Scott) Roedig. They had moved back to Wisconsin where mom worked several years at the Foley Co. (now Newell) and then worked 20 plus years at Wisconsin Aluminum Factory where she retired from. She also worked part time at Stecker Machine for a few years after her retirement.
In addition to her office/shipping work Barb also owned and operated Elliott’s Duck Inn in Branch, WI for several years while she was married to Dale Elliott. Barb loved to cook and shared that passion with her sidekick Pat (Ralph) Elliott making wonderful meals at the supper club. After selling the restaurant Barb continued to cook part time at the Elks Club in Manitowoc.
In June of 2007, Barb married Jim Jorgensen of De Pere. They had many wonderful camping adventures going back and forth to Florida before becoming permanent campers at Cedar Valley Campgrounds in Kewaunee. They also had a “summer home” in Arcadia, Florida where they were snow bunnies with her favorite cousin Cheryl (Jim) Faust. They enjoyed the sunshine, golfing and just relaxing in their backyard.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Kenny and Butch; two sisters; Mary and Joy. She has two remaining siblings: one sister: Linda Aderman and one brother: Fred (Edi) Dubay. She leaves behind her husband: Jim, her children: Dale and Rhonda, Jim’s children: Ed (Gussi), Andy (Deb), Lynn (Chris) Lyons, also grandchildren: Dalton and Emmy, Jenna (Sam), Rachel (Jack) and Jesse (Luke) as well as great-grandchildren: Cambria, Atticus and Arlo.
A Life Celebration will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the All-Care Gathering Center, 925 South 14th Street, Manitowoc.
