Condolence: My sympathy to all the Hayes family on the loss of your mom, Pat. I cherish many vivid childhood memories of your mom and dad from all the get-togethers, camping trips, and vacations (sometimes involving two Chevy Chase "Vacation" style paneled station wagons flying down the US highways at 90-100 mph) we shared as families over the years. I also remember her saving me from a lifetime of burn scars when she showed up, in the nick of time, at the Gigure house late one night to take care of the third degree burns on my arms and legs before my babysitter-sister slathered them in butter. I'll remember your mom for her beauty, her cool New York accent, her great sense of humor, and her laid back style. She kept things lively, and I always looked up to her. I'm sad to know she's gone.
