Obituary for Richard A. Yanda

Richard A. Yanda, age 73, of Manitowoc, passed away on Sunday evening, January 31, 2021 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.

Richard was born on June 10, 1947 in Manitowoc, son of the late Arnold and Fern (Pierce) Yanda. He drove truck for the Metal Ware Corporation of Two Rivers and retired from full time driving with Conveyance. In his retirement he drove part time until the time of his death for Conveyance. He married the former Patricia Pingel and they later divorced. She preceded him in death on December 12, 2016. On July 28, 2001 he married Betsy (Pingel) Bratz. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2011. Richard was a member of the former St. John United Church of Christ and a current member of Peace United Church of Christ. He enjoyed going to auto races and truck pulls. Richard especially enjoyed having coffee with his family and friends.

Survivors include his three children: Angie (Duane) Pohlman, Greenleaf, Terry (Candy) Yanda, Manitowoc, Troy Yanda, Two Rivers; six grandchildren: Rossin, Amy, Alex, Chris, Cassie and Reggie; two great grandchildren: Denna and Jackson; six step-children; 12 step-grandchildren; one sister: Mary Hintz, Two Rivers; six brothers: Larry Yanda, Mishicot, Gary (Julie) Yanda, Pensacola, FL, David (Mary) Yanda, Two Rivers, Robert Yanda and special friend Peggy Ducat, Two Rivers, Donald (Debra) Yanda, Two Rivers, Jerry Yanda and special friend Trish, Kenosha. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his two wives; one infant son: Timothy; one brother and sister-in-law: Eugene (Janice) Yanda.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer will officiate the service with burial to follow at the Valders West Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Due to the current pandemic, masks are required and please social distance when possible.
