Dorothy T. Holschbach, age 92, of Manitowoc passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at her residence with family at her side.

Dorothy was born June 5, 1928 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Bernie and Agnes (Hoolihan) Reed. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc with the Class of 1947. On September 3, 1949 she was united in marriage to Vernon Holschbach at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2014.

Dorothy dedicated her life to caring for her children and her husband. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was active for many years with the Catholic Women’s Club and was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Parish. She loved to laugh and her family and friends provided her many opportunities for that. She was loved and respected by all the lives she touched. One of her favorite pastimes was reading.


Survivors include six sons and three daughters-in-law: Keith, Kent, Leon & Debbie, Randy & Ann, Brian, Todd & Andrea; four daughters and two sons-in-law: Mary Claire Konkle (Tom Wolter), Cindy Holschbach, Jackie & Troy Anhalt, Bridget & Jim Kohler; nineteen grandchildren: Elizabeth Simon Holschbach, Faith (James) Clark, Sara Curtis, Erin (Dave) Lewis, Jessica (Mike) Jarvela, Nathan (Amy) Holschbach, Justin (Amy) Holschbach, Evan (Lindsey) Holschbach, Lauren (Wes) Sweeney, Ryan (Vanessa) Holschbach, Aaron Holschbach, Nick (Autumn) Konkle, Craig Konkle, Spencer (Ellen) Anhalt, Allison Anhalt, Kirill and Misha Holschbach, Jack and Claire Kohler; several great grandchildren: Ivy Clark, Emalynn Curtis, Jonas Holschbach, Savanna and Chloe Lewis, Lilly and Jackson Jarvela, Ashlyn and Landon Holschbach, Madalynn,Haleigh and Claire Holschbach, Olsen and Lenny Holschbach, Odin Sweeney, Greysen Holschbach, Will and Max Konkle; one great great grandson Matteo Hernandez; her siblings: Maurice Reed, Elaine Fischer, Ed Reed; and her loving in-laws: Janice Reed, Philip Fischer, Marie Jo Reed and Al Van Dyn Hoven. Dorothy is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Vernon, one son Vince Holschbach, two daughter-in-laws Pattee Holschbach and Mary Ellen Holschbach, her parents Agnes & Ben Reed, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul & Clara Holschbach and her siblings and spouses: Margaret & Elwin Schroeder, Cecilia Van Dyn Hoven, Mary & Louie Smith, Bernie & Evelyn Reed and Philip Reed. She is further preceded in death by her in-laws: Jerome Holschbach, Harvey & Corrine Holschbach, Donald & Delores Holschbach, Paul & Rose Holschbach, Marvin & Pat Holschbach, Eunice Mella, Bernice & Don Barta, Arnold & Grace Brandl and Frank Bremser.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc). Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Ben Johnson with burial to take place immediately following services at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at church. The family requires that everyone in attendance wear a face mask at all times and observe social distancing at all times.

The service will also be live streamed via Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes facebook for those who can not attend.
