Obituary for Beverly J. Orchekowski

Beverly J. Orchekowski
Beverly J. Orchekowski, age 87, a Manitowoc resident, passed away early Friday morning, March 26, 2021 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

Beverly was born on June 5, 1933 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and Frances (maiden name) Blahnik. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. On May 14, 1955 she married Albert J. Orchekowski at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. They spent 61 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death on July 4, 2016.

Many years ago, Beverly taught herself how to make greeting cards. She became quite proficient and many family and friends over the years have been delighted to be recipients of one of her personalized cards. In addition, Beverly enjoyed making various craft items from her dishwashing 'scrubbies' to her microwave cozies. Beverly frequently carried a variety of these treasures in her purse and would gift them to random recipients in the course of her daily travels.

Survivors include her four children: Gregory F. (Lynnette) Orchekowski, Roseville, CA, Susan O. Vaughn, High Point, NC; Gary L. (Mary) Orchekowski, Manitowoc, Brenda (Scott) Williams, Wallburg, NC; eight grandchildren: Joshua (Jessica) Orchekowski, Arron (Kristina) Orchekowski, Jennifer (Corey) Wilson, Adam (Christina) Orchekowski, Brian (Brianna) Orchekowski, Benjamin, Clare and Ivy Williams; three great grandchildren: Jace Orchekowski, Waylon Long, Jilliana Orchekowski; and three sisters: Jeannette Junk, Manitowoc, LaVerne Provot, Green Bay, Yvonne Zimmer, Two Rivers. Beverly is also survived by her companion pet Roscoe. They had a unique and supportive relationship as one has with a pet that becomes family. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by one infant daughter: Betsy Ann; one sister and four brothers-in-law: Ruth and Mike DeCarlo, Robert Provot, Derald Zimmer, Earl Junk; and one brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Reginald and Lillian Orchekowski.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc, with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
